Randy making the post, again. The nurses preformed Gary’s morning check and the patient is drinking a rasberry smoothie. Other than the overall absence of being comfortable, his biggest complaint is swelling in the throat. This is keeping food intake to a minimum, but the doctors believe low nutrition is okay for now. In the midst of the stem cell transplant (and chemo therapy drugs from last week), time is our friend and the side effects will run their course while the new stem cells take hold. Gary walked a quarter of a mile, dragging his IV delivery system behind him. He continues to venture off to the bathroom on his own. The television runs twenty four hours a day - usually tuned to the red-neck Fox channel. Yesterday we found a fishing show, and the day before we watched the Cubbies slaughter St. Louis.
