It seems hard to believe that two months have passed since Gary’s transplant. I have been busy these last weeks with fall outside chores. I have the garden cleaned off and tilled, just waiting for next spring.
Monday, we went to Chicago for Gary to have his bone marrow biopsy. We are now anxiously waiting for the report. It takes about a week for the doctor to analyze all the test results. Gary’s blood counts were good. In fact, this was the first time since April that his hemoglobin count raised with out the aid of medical intervention!
Gary went back to work last week. It has been hard but he wants to save the rest of his disability days for the next transplant. He still has a hard time sleeping at night. This mainly due to a very itchy rash thanks to the chemo, which he will have for another month. Gary also is having some pain in his feet. This pain will probably be diagnosed as neuropathy, a side effect from the velcade he took this summer. Both of these uncomfortable symptoms seem to be worse at night.
Keep praying for Gary. He really needs relief from his rash and the pains in his feet. Pray that he has the strength to work and mental strength to stay focused on the kids that need good counsel.
I wish that we could write a personal thank you note to each one of you. The cards and letters have been wonderful. The generous outpouring from family and friends overwhelms us. We have an awesome God! God is carrying us right through this difficult time.
